Last weekend we took a trip to the German International School of Cape Town, with the intention of bringing scuba diving to the masses. We spent two long days setting up for the event, making sure that everything was prepared for. Our mission for the event was to successfully complete 50 Discover Scuba Diving Experiences and to get as many people as we could, interested in scuba diving. We met a wide range of people wanting to dive from the ages of 10-upwards.

With that being said it was a huge task to accomplish in the space of 7-8 hours. Our small team of 10 instructors was working hard to keep up with the demand – taking shifts of 1 hour to 2 hours each. There was however, one exception, a hardcore instructor who refused to get out of the water, a super dedicated team member. We are also super proud of all of the instructors who helped, as well as all of the scuba diving participants, who took their first step into the wonderful world of the diving community.

With so many happy faces in the water, you can’t help but smile as well. With the help of the German international school, we are positive that everyone had an amazing experience. We also need to thank the school for allowing us to be a part of the bazaar and for allowing us to share our passion with those who are going to make up the future of scuba diving.

In the end, we had an amazing time with all 70 people who participated in the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experiences. As the day progressed, everything started slowing down at the pool and things seemed to start picking up at the beer tent on the sports field. The party started.

So if you feel like you want to come and experience the same feeling of diving, making lifelong friends and having a proper South African jol, come into Cape Town Dive Centre and sign up for a Discover scuba diving experience or take the leap and get your PADI Open Water Course. You will not regret it!
