What are Divemasters?
First of all, welcome to the family of Cape Town Dive Centre. Let us help you turn your diving life into your ocean office.
Starting your Divemaster journey is the first step in becoming a professional in recreational diving. Dive Masters are knowledgeable about the ocean environment and have great problem-solving skills. These professionals are trained to lead divers, as well as to allow them to have an amazing experience. They pass on the knowledge that they have gained during training dives on courses such as the Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Course. Divemasters also help clients in a professional way and are a key element in the running of a successful scuba diving centre.
Essentially, a Divemaster is a knight in shining armour to all of the clients that they are in contact with. If you love helping people and are keen on having the best trips and holidays, then this is for you. Divemasters bond well with their customers, because they are usually very approachable. This skill, allows the Divemaster to create valuable connections with individuals from all around the world. Not only do they learn the incredible skill of customer service, but a Divemaster is trained in sales, servicing, and most importantly professionalism. These are all highly respected skills and will stand you well in any career path you choose to go on. Most importantly, becoming a Divemaster is the first step into the professional world of scuba diving, and is the stepping stone that you need to become a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor. Trust me, there is no better job in the world.

Although our Cape Town waters are a bit on the colder side – all you need is a nice wetsuit and the warmest of thoughts.
Personally, I would not have done my divemaster training anywhere else. I have realized over the years of my professional diving career that the amount of experience I gained throughout my Dive Master course was invaluable. I have carried many cylinders and I still do. However, I have also learnt to help people who are struggling and who are unsure of their diving capabilities. It has allowed me to continue my journey to Instructor, as well as to find work all around the world. I would not have done it any other way.
Here in the lovely land of wine, braais and diving, you will not be disappointed.
